Første mars minnes vi de polske soldatene som fortsatte kampen mot Sovjetunionens styrker og agenter. Den  nye okkupanten som inntok landet etter april 1945.

Vest-Europa feiret freden og satte igang med gjenreisningen etter krigen. I Polen fortsatte polakkene kampen mot kommunistene helt fram til 1963.
